Meal plan points carry over from fall semester to spring semester. If all points are not utilized by the end of spring semester, all points become null and void.

As listed above, Meal Plans A, B, and C gives the patron a set number of meals to use per week at Hale Kehau Dining. There are fourteen "All-you-care-to-eat"(AYCE) meals served every week that begin on Sunday and end on Saturday. These meals are made up of lunch daily from Monday through Friday, nightly dinners from Sunday through Saturday and one brunch meal on Saturday and Sunday. For example, if Meal Plan A is chosen, the patron may use any seven of the fourteen meals served at Hale Kehau. The same for Meal Plan B with the exception of Meal Plan C where the patron is entitled to all fourteen meals served at Hale Kehau.

The flex points that are included in each meal plan can be used at all dining locations on campus. Flex points work like a debit account where funds are deducted from the account penny for penny and are used for all other meals and/or purchases outside of the 7,10 or 14 AYCE meals served at Hale Kehau Dining. The points obtained with Meal Plans A, B, and C carry over from fall semester to spring semester. Any unused points become null and void at the end of spring semester. Additional points can be purchased at Sodexo's office located at Campus Center Dining. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

The following is an example of how a patron could use his meal plan A for the week:

Our patron's name is Mike and he has purchased the 7-meals-per-week plan. Mike uses his meal plan for the following meals:

On Sunday night dinner he uses one out of seven meals leaving him six left for the week. Monday morning he eats breakfast at Campus Center Dining and pays $4.85 from his flex points, Mike skips lunch, but decides to purchase an egg sandwich from the Coffee Cart on his way to class. He pays $2.86 from his flex points and goes on to dinner at Hale Kehau Dining where he has his second AYCE meal. This leaves him with five meals to use by Saturday night before all seven meals re-set on Sunday. By the end of the day, his points account balance is $492.29 after he purchases breakfast and sandwich on Monday. Mike will proceed to have AYCE dinners at Hale Kehau Dining on Tuesday and Thursday night. He will use his seventh meal on Saturday brunch. His other daily meals (i.e. breakfast, morning snacks, lunch, cappuccino, etc) will be deducted from his flex point balance.

Voluntary Meal Plans

You can purchase Flex Points for use at any of our retail locations at any time. If you purchase $100 or more you will receive a 10% bonus.

Having trouble selecting a meal plan?

Try considering your daily routine… Do you eat three meals a day? Will your class schedule, studying, extracurricular activities and social events interfere with dining? Will you miss dinner due to employment or evening classes? Anticipating the answers to these and similar questions will help you to select a meal plan that best fits your lifestyle.

Meal Cards

Selection of a Campus Dining Services Meal Plan entitles you to a Meal Card, which allows you purchasing power equivalent to the plan you have selected. Your card will be credited with the appropriate number of All-You-Care-to-Eat (AYCE) meals and Flex Points based on the plan you have purchased.

Each time you enter the dining facility during an AYCE period one meal will be deducted from your account. AYCE meals are not transferrable and do not carry over from week to week. In addition, anytime you make a purchase during retail hours or at a retail location, the purchase price will be deducted from your Flex Point account balance. You must be present in order to use your card.

Lost Your Meal Card? Lost or stolen Meal Cards can be replaced. Should this happen to you contact the Campus Center Office at (808) 932-7365. There is a $10 replacement fee.
